If you ever want to visit a small island with endless amount of beaches and cute places to visit – Menorca is the place!

We arrived back home yesterday evening, after 10 lovely days in Menorca with our friends. It is such a beautiful island, and although there is quite a lot of tourists during the summer, you can still access some hidden treasure beaches by walking a bit more than most of the people.

The most known beaches are in the south of the island, which most of them are surrounded by crystal blue & turquoise water and white sand beaches. They are very pretty, but my god how many people…. We went one day with a boat ride to see them from the sea, it was really worth it, but I would not go there and spend my whole day. In the touristic boat tours they take 1 – 2 hour stops in some of the famous beaches, and trust me, that was more than enough for us.

Instead, I really recommend the beaches in the north of the island, my favorite ones where Pregonda and Pilar. They have crystal clear water, but instead of white sand, they have more dark sand or red sand as you can see on the photos. Also, they are way bigger and not so crowded, especially if you walk until the end of the beaches. Many of the beaches require a short walk / hike, but they are all doable, even with flip flops haha.

In addition to just chilling on the beaches, we also visited some really pretty towns, like Fornells (you have to eat the lobster soup in Es Cranc if you go there), Ciutadella, Es Mercadal and Binibequer. All of them are worth visiting if you have the time and possibility.

We had rented a small house in Cala Blanca with swimming pool and sea views for all the vacation and it was a very smart choice, after the sandy beach days, we really enjoyed the afternoons just chilling in the pool and watching the sunset.
