My intention was to upload only one blogpost about Iceland, with just few beautiful pictures. Well, that didn´t work out very well. I have over 1000 beautiful pictures from Iceland, how can I possibly just choose few of them?

So, I have uploaded 5 different blogposts, in each of them there´s a lot of pictures from that specific area. Just click on the links in this blogpost and you´ll find the other ones, or go to the homepage of my blog to see them all.

We arrived back to Andorra yesterday, after spending around 20 days in Iceland. This trip goes straight to the top trips of my life – easily! My sister lives in Iceland so we had few pretty nice advantages such as an apartment and car. It was also lovely to spend some time with her and the family, since she moved to Iceland so many years ago. I was just a kid at that time, so we don´t really know each other that much. Now I at least know that she´s totally capable of emptying wine bottles while discussing and making the world better with me. I also know that she loves broccoli and good coffee. And, very important, my nephews were Real Madrid fans, but we quickly managed to convert them to FC Barcelona fans with Jammu.

Laugavegur hike

Anyways, a bit about Iceland itself. The most impressive part during these 20 days was by far the Laugavegur hiking trail that we did. We hiked through one of the world’s most beautiful hiking trails for 5 days, it´s 55 km long, not that difficult, but trust me, the weather conditions can really fuck you up here. Which is exactly what happened to us the first day.

South Iceland & Jökulsárlón

Another favorite part of the trip was the one-day trip in South Iceland, to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. So impressive place. It was totally quiet, full of ice blocks and few seals swimming around in the lagoon. We also visited few other things during the day, like Svartifoss waterfall, Reynisfjara beach and Seljalandsfoss waterfall.

Reykjavik & Blue Lagoon

Since we were staying in Reykjavik, we of course also visited the city, which I immediately fell in love with. So many small and cute houses in all the colors you can imagine. Another obvious visit while in Iceland and Reykjavik is the Blue Lagoon, which is around 30 min drive from Reykjavik.

Golden Circle

Golden Circle is also something you should definitely do while in Iceland. It´s a 1-day trip, but you get to see a lot of unique nature wonders.

North Iceland

We had the possibility to drive North for 2 days, which ended up being totally worth it, although it´s a 5-hour drive. The area around Myvatn lake is spectacular, with a forest, lava formations, a volcano, geothermal area and waterfalls.

West Iceland & Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Last but not least, we drove to West Iceland for 2 days. For me the area itself wasn´t that spectacular as everybody is saying it is. It was beautiful of course, but not my favorite part of the island. I really enjoyed these 2 days though, since I got to see seals chilling in the water, beautiful puffins flying around the archipelago and I also got to taste super fresh scallops while on a Boat Tour.
